Shadow on Concrete Wall

In November of 2017,  after 17 years church planting in Bauru, São Paulo, we moved to the city of Fortaleza in Northeast Brazil to begin a new church plant, train leaders, and help out in a local orphanage. Partnering with national leaders, we have also been invited to develop a church planting training center in partnership with local churches and/or seminary.

After moving to the region of Fortaleza in Northeast Brazil in 2017, we launched a church plant in the town of Eusébio, 10 miles south of Fortaleza.  The church plant, Igreja Bíblica Batista do Eusébio, is now officially organized and legalized with the government, and we are currently raising funds to build on our newly purchased piece of land. In December of 2021, after two years of mentoring/training a seminary intern, the church ordained and called him to be its first national pastor. In this new church,  evangelism and discipleship,  as well as leadership training and development, have been high priorities as we lead the church to full autonomy.

We have the privilege of training church planters and leaders in Fortaleza. Tim teaches courses on Evangelism, Discipleship, Missions, and Church Planting at 2 different Bible Colleges/Seminaries: SIBIMA and Charles Spurgeon Theological School. Tim is also a part of a team that does training around Brazil using Good Soil Evangelism & Discipleship material to better equip churches to reach their communities.

Since 2011, our family has committed to serving and reaching "the least of these" in our community. After working with street kids and a children's shelter in our previous ministry location, we are currently partnering with the Davis Lar in the greater Fortaleza region. This Christian organization provides safe shelter and long term care for children who are victims of prostitution, drug trafficking, abuse, and abandonment. Our ministry to these children includes weekly Bible studies, integration into our church plant, special events, and help with other needs.
