September 2026--Full steam ahead
IBBE--Mother Church
Construction on our church building is moving along nicely, and within the next month, we hope to be meeting inside the new auditorium! Our current tent is at the very end of its life, so once again, God’s timing is perfect. Before the next rainy season begins, Lord willing, we will finally be worshiping indoors.
We are also thankful for the continued growth of the church. On several recent Sundays, we have run out of available seating, and the church purchased additional chairs just this week. Between 15–20 people are currently interested in completing membership classes and becoming members of the church.
Our partnership with the orphanage also continues to grow. The children come each Sunday and sit with their “church families.” Beginning in October, we will offer four weeks of training in evangelism and discipleship to prepare each family to begin one-on-one discipleship with their child from the orphanage. The orphanage administration has repeatedly shared how grateful they are for this partnership and the investment our church families are making in the lives of these children.
IBBBP--Our Daughter Church
Our church is equally excited about our newest church plant and the opportunity to purchase property that will give this new congregation a permanent meeting place. In addition to our Sunday services, we have begun holding Bible studies and prayer meetings in homes throughout the community. This has been a wonderful way to build personal relationships with people in the village and bring the ministry of the church directly into their homes.
After months of prayer and planning, we have made an offer on a property with a large house that can be adapted for the needs of the new church. This property will provide a home base for the congregation and serve the ministry well for many years to come.
God has abundantly provided through generous gifts from several sources to make this purchase possible. We are now praying and planning for the renovations and improvements needed to prepare the property, along with necessities such as chairs, tables, sound equipment, and other ministry supplies. Lord willing, we hope to begin meeting at the new property sometime in October!
Teaching & Training
Tim continues to have opportunities to teach and mentor churches and ministry leaders in the area of church planting. This past weekend, he spoke three times at a local church, helping them develop a vision for planting churches. He is also preparing to teach a master’s-level church planting course at a seminary next semester.
Ministering to Our Family
The past few months have also brought an intense and very personal season of ministry for our family. Andrea’s dad has terminal brain cancer, and this summer we were able to spend time caring for and serving her parents, including a recent brief trip to Florida to help during this end-of-earthly-life season.
The days have been long and emotionally difficult for the family, but we are thankful that God has given us the opportunity to be present and serve. Sometimes the mission field God gives us is our own family, and we are grateful for the privilege of loving and caring for them during this time.
Thank you for faithfully praying for us and supporting God’s work here in Brazil and around the world. We are reminded that none of this ministry happens alone and are grateful for each of you who has a part in what God is doing.
