Back in Brazil 2025

Now back in Brazil, we have hit the ground running, and God has encouraged us in many ways as we adjust to an empty home and new phase of ministry. Two days after arriving was our first Sunday at church, and we were amazed to see how our church family had grown during the year. One especially precious gift was after that first Sunday morning service, a young mother (Ana) who is pictured with Andrea met with our Pastor and gave her life to Christ. The church had been praying for her as one of our members was doing an evangelistic Bible study with her. That same week, another member asked for prayer for his nephew who needed Christ and had been invited to come to church on Sunday. Gustavo, the nephew, was at church on Sunday, prayer meeting on Wednesday, and church the next Sunday as well. During a one on one study with another church member, Gustavo also surrendered to Jesus as Lord and Savior. Our first few weeks have greatly encouraged us to continue serving here as the Lord is blessing and using us and our ministries.
Teaching Opportunities

We returned just in time for Tim to start teaching a Thursday night class on missions at the seminary, and the following week added Friday nights as well teaching his church planting course. Eager to assist with some of the teaching responsibilities at church again, Tim has joined the rotation for Sunday School, Sunday morning preaching, and prayer meeting.
New Church Plant

An additional ministry focus is assisting with the newly established church plant in a small fisherman village about 30 minutes from us. We have started attending Sunday evening services in order to evaluate and pray about how God would have us serve and help with this first daughter church plant. Their group is growing slowly, and we still have a good team of leaders that are keeping the work moving forward. After a few hours of door to door canvasing of the neighborhood, there were several first time visitors the last two Sundays, and we rejoice to see how God is expanding this work and partnership.
Church Building Project
One more step forward has been taken. The modified project has been resubmitted, and we have received feedback with requested changes. We are uncertain as to how many times we will be required to submit the project only for them to find more changes. Continue to pray with us that this would be the last step needed and soon we will be rejoicing as we continue to the next stage of building. Also, please be praying for divine wisdom as once the approval is official, many decisions about who to hire and what path to take forward will be made; and, here in Brazil, divine protection against scams is needed. Meanwhile, our church family happily continues to care for the property and do the best with the tent and resources we do have.
Empty Nest Adjustments
We are so grateful for everyone that prayed for us during this transition back to Brazil as we establish new, healthy rythms of life and ministry. Technology is a gift as we connect with our kids who are each in a different state (Robert serving in Colombia). As represented in the pictures below, we are able to enjoy some downtime once a week and have amazing views in our "neck of the woods".
Thank you for your continued prayers and support of God's work here through our partnership.
