In June 2024, we officially started our year of reporting to churches and partnering families in the USA, and we look forward with great anticipation being able to connect with many of you. Our last opportunity was in 2020; and, no doubt, we all remember why that year was less than ideal for missionary visits.
Although the temporary goodbyes in Brazil were hard for all, we trust that the Lord will continue to work in great ways for His glory.
With the gift of technology, we stay connected to our ministries in ways that years ago we never imagined possible. Andrea meets now online with the women she is mentoring in Brazil while Tim has constant contact with the leaders of our church plant in our absence.
Now located in Grand Rapids, MI, for the year, Tim continued to teach his Bible school class to students and pastors in Mozambique. While traveling from Brazil to USA and through multiple states here, we always planned on Wednesday afternoons to have an internet connection and an office from which Tim to teach his class. Having just finished teaching that class, Tim's next teaching opportunity is in August partnering with a seminary in Brazil.
The church plant building permit is only lacking one last soil analysis test to complete the paperwork, and we are praying that this may be accomplished quickly and approved. The tent is serving well as a temporarily structure; however, rain enters from 2 sides and a river of runoff water freely flows through the meeting space when it rains hard. It seems each Sunday provides new challenges; however, the church continues to grow, serve, and reach our community with the Gospel. Pray for our vbs outreach next week.
This year will be a year of many transitions for our family! Returning to the mission field in 2025 with no kids, will no doubt be both challenging and exciting to see what God has planned. We cherish your prayers for our ministry opportunities around the world and right here at home with our family and partnering churches.
I Corinthians 15:58 “…be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
